ETEBOM John MondayLCC, D.Th (Lagos), B.Sc, M.Sc, PhD(Ife).
Dr JM Etebom was born in Ilorin, Kwara State on 7th December, 1981 into the family of late chief Monday Udo Inyang of Awa-Iman, Onna LGA of Akwa-Ibom State and Mrs. Hellen Monday of Uromi, Edo state.

Dr. JM Etebom (a.k.a John Pillar) core drive is to ensure every man succeed in the race of life. Etebom began to exhibit his leadership dexterity very early in life when he was appointed the class leader on his first in day primary school in 1986. He was also a leader in his secondary school days. As a student Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Bible College in Redemption Camp , Lagos State, he coordinated the activities of student Pastors at the Reedeemed Christian Church of God International House. As an undergraduate, Dr. Etebom served as the Class Representative of Political Science Department (2005-2009 Class). He was a two-term President of the National Association of Akwa-Ibom State Students Association (NAAKISS, OAU Chapter), 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 sessions respectively. He was the Secretary General of Great Ife Student Union in 2008/2009 parliamentary year and he was fondly known as JOHN PILLAR. Dr. Etebom was appointed the Ordely Officer(OO)/Cordinator at 2009 South West Students' Leadership Training organized by the Federal Ministry of Education for all tertiary institutions in South West at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Sea-School, Apapa-Lagos.
Dr. Etebom began his ministerial career as a full time Pastor and Youth Pastor in the Reedeemed Christian Church of God, old Eastern Province 2, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. As a Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, He was the Youth Pastor of the present Uyo Province 2, Eket, Akwa-Ibom State; he served as a Zonal Youth Pastor, First Fruit Zone, Ile-Ife. Pastor JM Etebom is the Parish Pastor of Dominion Sanctuary, Osun Province 7 Headquarters Church, Opposite Ife City, Along Ilesha Road, Ile-Ife. Until his recent research fellowship in the United States, he was the Provincial Coordinator of Programs; and Young Adult and Youth Affairs (YAYA).
Dr. Etebom is an active member of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). He is the Convener/Chairperson of the ASUU Labour-Students Relations Committee, ASUU-OAU. He is was a two-term Secretary of Electoral Committee, OAU-ASUU. He was the Chairperson of Sunshine Nursery and Primary school Parents-Teachers Association, Ile-Ife, Osun State between 2018 and 2022.
Dr. Etebom has a few awards to his name. He was the second-best graduate of 1999 September set of the Redeemed Christian Bible College. He was awarded the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University Meritorious Service Award (first in the history of the university awarded to students) and the Federal Government Of Nigeria Scholarship Award, 2008 and 2009. Dr. Etebom graduated among the best three students with the highest CGPA in Political Science, 2009 set. He was awarded the Personality of the Class and the Most Social Male awards of the Graduating Class, 2009. He was the best M.Sc student with the highest weighted average in the Department of Political Science, 2015. For his committment to community development, Dr. Etebom was awarded the highly covetted Southwestern Nigerian Excellence Award for Community Impact in 2020.
Since joining the service of the Obafemi Awolowo University in 2014 as a lecturer in the department of Local Government and Development Studies. Apart from lecturing and research, Dr. Etebom has served as Students' Adviser for the Department; member of the department and faculty examination board; member, social and welfare committee at the department and faculty levels; representative of the faculty of administration during the university's sessional freshers' orientation program; and speaker at faculty and departmental symposiums.
At the university level, Dr. JM Etebom is a distinguished member of the University Senate. He served as a member of the university ceremonial committee. Dr. Etebom was elected as one of the two Senate Representatives in the University's Council Search Committee for the appointment of the 12th Vice-Chancellor of the University.
As a corps member, Dr Etebom was the Coordinator of MDGs 2010 in Osun state. He was unanimously appointed the chairperson of the NYSC 2010 Sentforth Dinner.
Dr. JM Etebom is a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor at the Department of Local Government and Development Studies. He is recognized leadership and youth development expert, lecturer and life coach. He is a devoted Christian, Pastor and a Teacher of God’s word. He is happily married to Pharmacist Grace Toyin Etebom. The marriage is blessed with three wonderful kids, called 'De Generals'; David, Samuel and Daniel.
